World Mental Health Day 2022

Happy World Mental Health Day

The theme for this World Mental Health Day is “Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority”

We couldn’t agree more!

We have been lucky just working here in North Somerset with a number of organisations, companies and schools who are really dedicated to putting mental health and wellbeing at the top of their agenda for their employees and students, they really do care.

So it is happening out there!

An example of some of the work we have been doing to promote this, we were invited by Weston College to be part of their Accelerate project which offered businesses in North Somerset the opportunity to come to wellbeing skill sessions for free.

We delivered six sessions to a number of really varied businesses focussing on mental health and wellbeing.

In our sessions we looked at how and why we get stressed, the signs to look for, how post pandemic many companies have changed the way they work and the impact of that.

We spoke about the importance of connection and how we can encourage and promote that. The benefits of movement, posture, relaxation, and balance. We gave companies the tools to take away with the focus being very much on small steps, and we LOVED IT!

We will both be celebrating on Monday 10th October all the good work that is going on out there, but very much knowing there is still a lot to do.

Fact - Hugging is proven to make us healthier, happier, and calmer- it increases levels of oxytocin and serotonin.

So sending you all big hugs from us both.
