I am hugely passionate about people and what they can achieve, for over 25 years I have worked with people in various guises. After completing a degree in Sociology and Social Policy, I worked in recruitment where I ran a successful search company, what I loved most about the work was listening, communicating and supporting people. Having worked in recruitment I understand the stresses and strains that a very fast paced sales environment can place upon on employees, and from running my own client facing business I understand how critical it is to have happy, motivated staff.

After having two children my industry sector had changed quite dramatically and I knew I wanted to carry on working with people and using my interpersonal skills, so I took the opportunity to retrain and completed several counselling courses. I was drawn to the therapeutic relationship and how beneficial this can be, we all have points in our life where we might benefit from some support. I then wanted to add another string to my bow so trained as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist.

I love that I can use each skill set to empower my clients to make change, the counselling and the solution focused style of questioning achieve great results and to be able to also offer the hypnotherapy makes for a lovely way to work.

I have been lucky enough to work with a really varied group of clients in various settings from the voluntary sector through to corporate organisations offering wellness sessions for their employees, to working in a one-to-one setting with people struggling with anxiety or a teenager who is lacking in confidence. What is important is that the sessions are enjoyable, relaxed, and empowering!

I am often told by my clients that they feel I am an excellent mentor that they feel that I support them to achieve and really believe in themselves. I am very much a glass half full kind of a girl, but I am also realistic and realise that the road isn’t always smooth.

I have a great interest in neuroscience and how the brain works, I appreciate this is a little geeky, but I love nothing more that reading around the subject and being able to use this to support my clients in sessions. I am really fascinated by how we can change our behaviour and thought patterns and the benefits of a growth mindset.

When I am not working, I love spending time with my husband and two girls, family, and friends, I enjoy yoga, having a glass of wine and travelling. Cornwall is very close to my heart and I love spending time on the beach both in summer and winter it’s my happy place!
